"Wednesday" is coming back: the premiere date for season two has been announced and a teaser has been released.

Netflix unveils teaser for "Wednesday" Season 2 and announces split release dates

Streaming giant Netflix has released the teaser for the second season of one of its biggest hits — the fantasy series "Wednesday" starring Jenna Ortega. It was also revealed that the new season will be split into two parts: the first part will premiere on August 6, 2025, and the second will follow on September 3, 2025.

This move is unusual for Netflix, which rarely splits seasons, but the platform has been increasingly adopting this strategy for major projects — from "Stranger Things" to "Berlin".

Teaser: Wednesday vs. the Airport

In the new teaser, Wednesday appears in a scene that’s unexpected yet perfectly in line with her character: an airport security check, where alarms go off. A security officer asks her to empty her pockets — and that's when the surprises begin. On the conveyor belt, she casually places brass knuckles, pepper spray, knives, nunchucks, a taser, a spiked chain, and numerous other "everyday" items. But what truly raises concern is not the weapons, but a... mysterious yellow container of sunscreen.

The scene, like the entire series, is delivered with the signature blend of dark humor and gothic teenage mystery that fans have come to love.

What we know about Season 2

Season 2 will continue the story of Wednesday Addams, a student at Nevermore Academy, as she faces new mysteries, supernatural forces, and, of course, her own enigmatic nature. In the first season, Wednesday uncovered a string of murders connected to her parents — Morticia and Gomez — and battled a monster from the academy’s past.

Details about the challenges awaiting her in the upcoming episodes are still under wraps. However, it’s confirmed that filming took place in Ireland, and Tim Burton has once again joined the team of writers and directors, continuing to oversee the project’s signature visual style.
